Integrated Judiciary means that the judicial system is a unified whole with the SC at the apex level . The Lower Judiciary , in the States are under general supervision of the HCs, who in turn are , under the Supreme Court and bound to follow the Law laid down by them.

Independent Judiciary is a term that denotes that they are independent from the Executive for all intent and purpose. For judicial work they can not be influenced by any other wing of the State. This concept of independence has been reiterated, recently , when the SC, struck down the NJAC Bill, that laid down procedure to appoint Judges to the Higher Judiciary. Their interpretation to Constitutional provision is that the Executive is bound to follow the advice of Collegium of SC Judges, and any dissent would not be allowed.
