Inland fisheries includes riverine fishery, reservoir fishery, lake fishery, pond fishery and estuarine fishery.

Advantages of composite fish culture:

Different varieties of fishes utilize efficiently the natural food of all ecological niches of the pond and hence get good amount of food. They grow well without any competition for food and space and are also useful to each other. The yield of fish is also very high. The mortality rate in composite fish culture is negligible. The farmers are able to get better profits .

  • Inland water body are always freshwater body. e.g , pond,lake.
  • Inlandcaptures freshwater fish species, such as trout.

Advantages of Fish Culture System:

  • It increases the yield of the fishes
  • Maximum fish production is obtained by this method with lesser cost.
  • All available food of the pond can me utilized in a efficient way.
  • The variety of the fishes obtained are different.
