jati panchayat mean it's a type of court in village....if the village people made any mistake or they lost something which is important they can call Panchayat nd there will be a leader for it he may take a perfect decision or give a perfect punishment for the thing which happens there.....

the Assembly of adults in some areas is known as chat e panchayat ... rules and regulations to manage the conduct of their members. these rules were enforced by an assembly of elders also known as jati panchayat.
