jhum cultivation is also called slash and burn cultivation.
in that the trees are first burnt then they plant the crops they need

Jhum cultivation also know as slash and burn agriculture is followed by tribals.

in this a patch of land is first cleared by cutting the vegetation and burning it...


the ash is used as fertilizer for the land


crops are grown in this land untill it losses feritlity then they shift to new patch and continue the same...
