Rice barley Jowar are Kharif crops. It is dependent on the western monsoon
Maize Wheat are Rabi crops. It is not dependent on the monsoon.

1. The kharif cropping season is from July –October
2. Main Kharif croos are- Millets (Bajra & Jowar), Cotton, Soyabean, Sugarcane, Turmeric, Paddy(Rice), Maize, Moong (Pulses), Groundnut, Red Chillies, etc
3. Rabi Cropping season is from October-March (winter)
4.Major Rabi crops- wheat, barley, oats (cereals), chickpea/gram (pulses), linseed, mustard (oilseeds) etc.
