Answer:

Kinetic energy is a form of energy that an object or a particle has by reason of its motion. ... Kinetic energy is a property of a moving object or particle and depends not only on its motion but also on its mass.

Explanation:

KE=12mv2

Answer:

the energy possessed by an object due to its motion is called as kinetic energy. formula of kinetic energy is K.E. = 1/2 mv²

Explanation:

(in question engery should be energy)

the energy possessed by an object due to its motion is called as kinetic energy. it is defined as the amount of work needed to accelerate an object of a given mass from rest to a specific velocity.

formula of kinetic energy is K.E. = 1/2 mv²

here is derivation:-

let us suppose a body of mass m kg is moving with velocity v m/s

now the work done to stop the body will be equal to the kinetic energy of the body

let s = displacement and a = acceleration

from third equation of motion, we get

v²=u²+2as

a=v²-u²/2s

here u(initial velocity) = 0

a=v²/2s      ….. eq ( i )

work done = force × displacement

W = f × s

since force = mass × acceleration = m × a

W = m × a × s

this work done is  the required kinetic energy

then, K.E. = m × a × s

on putting the value of a from eq ( i ) we get,

K.E. = (m × v² × s)/2s

so K.E. = mv²/2

hence kinetic energy = mv²/2 =  1/2 mv²
