Lens aberration refers to a defect in the lens because of which the light falling on the lens does not get focused on to a specific point. Instead, the light gets spread out over a broad area. As a result, the image that is formed by such a lens appears distorted or blurred. There are various types of lens aberration. This problem can be eliminated by using high quality glass, proper lens coating and similar corrective elements.
