see, in case of linear polymerization the monomers are linked in straight line.Linear Polymers are polymers in which monomeric units are linked together to form linear chains. These linear polymers are well packed and have high magnitude of inter-molecular forces of attraction and therefore have high densities,high tensile strength and high melting points.

In chemistry and biology a cross-link is a bond that links one polymer chain to another. These links may take the form of covalent bonds or ionic bonds and the polymers can be either synthetic polymers or natural polymers (such as proteins).
