Magnetics is one of the very interesting branch of physics. It deals with magnetic fields and it's behaviour.

Today there are large number of applications of magnetics. The most basic thing to show magnetic behaviour are magnets that we all have played with.

There are no. of applications like :

1. It helps in finding direction because a bar magnet always points towards north- south direction when suspended freely.

2. No. of objects like:

  • door locks
  • speakers
  • ring bells
  • television
  • radio etc contain magnets.

3. When combined with electricity it creates a whole new world of electromagnetism.

4. Maglev train, generators, motors, televisions and no. of other electrical appliances work on the principals of electromagnetism.
