As we know Force = mass × acceleration.

So; Force cannot act on a mass

without a propagation of particular direction. ( since acceleration is a vector quantity therefore, Force is also a vector quantity)

so Force depends upon the direction in which it is acting.

When a two ( or more than two ) forces acting in a some direction sum up to give a specific force with specific direction in called Magnitude of Force.

OR

It means size of the force. It is sum of all forces acting on a body. If 2 forces act in same direction, Magnitude of force increases. It is the sum of of both forces.

"Magnitude of force" it means the size of the force. 1st of all force is a vector quantity. In this process it has direction & magnitude.

Magnitude of force can be calculates by determing the amount of acceleration it provide to the body, by using F = ma.

  • m = mass
  • a = acceleration provided mass is constant.
