Hey !
The temperature at which the SOLID melts to LIQUID at ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE is called MELTING POINT.
This melting of SOLID <to> LIQUID IS CALLED FUSION.

When the temperature of solids increases, the energy (kinetic energy) between the particles also increases. The increase in kinetic energy between the particles leads to the vibration of particles with greater speed. Then the heat supplies some energy which overcomes the forces of attraction between the particles. This is the time when the particles start moving freely by leaving their fixed shape. In this way the solid leaves its fixed shape and get converted into liquid form.
This process of changing in the state of matter from solid to liquid is known as Fusion.
"The minimum temperature which can convert solid into liquid is known as Melting Point."
