Mendeleev arranged the elements in the increasing order of their atomic weights in the form of a table called the mendeleevs periodic table. The major problem with this form of arrangement was that it couldn't justify the places of certain isotopes and rare earths.

It is the periodic table in which elements are arranged according to their increasing mass number. It was stated by Demetry Mendelev and had the capacity to detect the presence of such element which were not discovered at that time.
