medical Definition of metaphase plate. : a plane cell section in the equatorial plane of the metaphase spindle having the chromosomes oriented upon it.

hello!

During metaphase each of the chromosome gets attached to the anastral fiber by means of centromere such that all of them lies on the equatorial axis of the cell which is denoted as metaphasic plate.
