The nutrients which are needed by our body in larger quantities are called macro nutrients while those which are needed by our body in small quantity are called micro nutrients.

e.g. macro nutrients: carbon, oxygen, phosphorus, etc.

micro nutrients: fats, vitamins, minerals, etc.

The term micronutrients is used to describe vitamins and minerals in general. Macronutrients, on the other hand, includes proteins,fats and carbohydrates
