In a triangle, the line segment that joins the midpoints of the two sides of a triangle is parallel to the third side and is half of it.    If you want proof of it ask one more question with more points.

The Midpoint Theorem states that the segment joining two sides of a triangle at the midpoints of those sides is parallel to the third side and is half the length of the third side.
