cells that there were string like structures in nucleus which split longitudinally during cell division.this is called mitosis.mito means fine thread.it completes in 40 to 60 minutes.it has four stages.prophase,metaphase,anaphase,telophase.

sumayya: a process that takes place in the nucleus of a dividing cell
tanishkagupta30: Mitosis is the cell cycle process by which chromosomes in a cell nucleus are separated into two identical sets of chromosomes, each in its own nucleus. In general, karyokinesis (division of the nucleus) is followed by cytokinesis, which divides the cytoplasm, organelles and cell membrane into two new cells containing roughly equal shares of these cellular components.........

MITOSIS: The division of a cell to form two daughter cells each having a nucleus containing the same number and kind of chromosomes as the mother cell. The changes during divisions are clearly visible with a light microscope. Each chromosome divides lengthwise into two chromatids, which separate and form the chromosome of the resulting daughter nuclei. The process is divided into four stages, *prophase, *metaphase, * anaphase, and *telophase, which merge into each other. Mitotic division ensures that all the cells of an indivisual are genetically identical to each other and to the original fertilized egg.
