The word biodegradable means anything that will break up into small parts, rot or decay by some biological means. Eventually it will mix back into the earth. Composting is a good example. However, as our technology advances, we manage to go away from stuff that won’t do so, like plastics, electronics, metal products. This stuff which we can bury and dig up a long long time later and they have not broken up or rotted away, are basically called non-biodegradable waste.
