What do you mean by octet and duplet

Octet and duplet means when lasy shell of element is filled.In case of Helium and Hydrogen its duplet coz they have only two electrons.

Elements having eight electron in their shell is called octet.
Example:- noble gases

Element having 2 electron in their shell is called duplet.
Example :- hydrogen
