What do you mean by 'ordiance'?

In simple definition, ordinance is a LAW that is passed by the President/Governor when the parliament is not in session(and so cant make the law) but the law is required to immediate effect. Later when the parliament comes to session, ordinance ceases to exist within 6 weeks after the parliament comes to session.
