Oxides:-

It is a compound of oxygen with other element.
When an element reacts with oxygen then the product formed is oxide.
Eg —> Fe + O2 —> Fe2O3
In the above reaction Iron reacts with Oxygen to produce Iron (Ferrous) Oxide.
Another Example For Oxides are The reaction of Coal and Oxygen.
When coal is burnt in the presence of Oxygen, The product formed is Carbon dioxide.
Eg —> C + O2 —> CO2
