 \bold{PHOTOPHOSPHORYLATION}

Use of electron to convert ADP(Adenosine diphosphate ) into other usefull compound ATP(Adenosine triposhphate) in presence of light(photons) is called photophosphorylation.

 \bold{Photophosphorylation \: occurs \: during \: the \: light } \bold{dependent \:phase \: of \: photosynthesis }

▶This reacruon takes place in thylakoids of chloroplast.

▶In this :--

✳Chlorophyll becomes active when comes in contact with light energy (by absorbing photons)

✳The energy absorbed is further utilised in splitting of water into two compounds, Hydrogen and oxygen and this conversion is called photolysis.

 2H_2O \xrightarrow{photons} 4H^{+} + 4e^{-} + O_2

▶The hydrogen formed as product during photolysis is utilised by NADP to form NADPH.

 NADP + e^{-} + H^{+}\xrightarrow{photons} NADPH

▶Oxygen formed is given out.

▶ADP is converted to ATP by photophosphorylation.
