It is calcium sulphate hemihydrate.

Player of Paris is formed when gypsum is heated at 373k it forms plaster of Paris.

reaction :-

CaSO4 .2 H2O ------->CaSO4 . 1/2H2O +3/2 H2O

Uses :-

i)Used in making toys.

ii)Used to repair fractured bones.

iii)used in decoration of houses.

A white powder which is slightly hydrated calcium sulphate CaSO4 1/2 H2O or 2CaSO4H2O made by calcining gypsum.It is also used chiefly for casts and molds in the form of a quick setting paste with water.
