Pollination can be defined as the act of transferring pollen grains from the male anther of a flower to the female stigma of the same or another flower.
Pollination is of two types:
1. Self Pollination is the kind of pollination in which the pollen grains from the anther of a flower fall to the female stigma of the same flower.
2. Cross Pollination is the kind of pollination in which the pollen grains from the anther of a flower fall into the female stigma of another flower of the same plant or of another plant.
