what do you mean by prokaryotic?


umesh12: absence of true nucleus i.e nucleus is not well defiined means nuclear matter is scattred in cytoplasm

hey friend,
prokaryotic cells are cells in which nucleus membrane is absent.It is very small in size.Only one chromosome is present in it.Cell organelles also absent.

Prokaryotic cells are those cells in which the nucleus is not well defined . You can see that the nucleus is free flowing unlike other cells nucleus which are round and are covered in a membrane . This special nucleus is also given a a different name -Nucleoid . This organisms are primitive and also lack double membrane bound organelles like mitochondria and plastids.
