  • A reflex is made possible by neural pathways called reflex arcs.
  • It is involuntary autonomic spontaneous mechanical response.
  • It occurs without will of an individual.
  • It is done by peripheral nervous system which includes some parts of CNS (Central Nervous System) .
  • These are protective mechanism and first observed by Marshell Hall.

  2. Sensory neuron / Afferent fibre
