To give representation to even the backward countries of india some constituencies are reserved in rural and urban local bodies. In the Lok Sabha 84 seats are reserved for SC and 47 seats are resereved for ST because they may be deprived of their rights. Thus,reservations or reserved constituenties prevent discrimination towards backward sections and give equal opportunities to them.
