Indus River Basin.
The Indus is one of the most important drainage systems of the subcontinent of India. It has a length of 2880 Km, of which 709Km lies in India. The catchment area of the Indus is about 1,165,000 Sq. km, out of which about 321,248 Sq. Km is in India.
A river basin is the portion of land drained by a river and its tributaries. It encompasses all of the land surface dissected and drained by many streams and creeks that flow downhill into one another, and eventually into the Milwaukee River.
