Rural development term refers to the development of a village or small-town areas of a country. As mainly the focus is laid on Urban Development or Metropolitan development sometimes the rural development gets neglected to lead to backward rural areas.

The key issues in rural development are:

1) less focus of the government on the development of small-town or village areas.

2) the village people do not readily accept any kind of changes or developmental changes around them.

3) difficulty in deciding the perfect plan for rural development.
