Software engineering is a detailed study of engineering to the design, development and maintenance of software and also understand the need of user.
A program is a set of instruction and it can't run automatically on operating system it require compiler and interpretor for execution.
Software is may be set of programs and it is directly executed or installed on the given operating system and it does not require any type of compiler.
