selective permeable membrane or semipermeable membrane also known as plasma membrane or cell membrane is the outer covering of a cell which separate the content inside the cell from that of outside the cell.

it is called semi permeable membrane a selectively permeable membrane because it allows particular things to come inside the cell only.
