The flame which produces black coloured substance called soot, such flame is called sooty flame; it also shows incomplete combustion.
The flame which doesn't produces soot while burning and also show complete combustion this type of flame is called non-sooty flame.

in sooty flame you are able to see black unburnt carbon particle and it burns with yellow flame due to incomplete combustion. whereas in non sooty flame no black particles are formed and it burns with clean blue flame. generally saturated carbons give blue flame aand unsaturated carbons give yellow sooty flame
