hi friend,
Soil erosion is the process of removal of top soil by wind and water. The agents of soil erosion are water and wind. Soil erosion is a slow process.
Causes of soil erosion are :-
• Deforestation, which makes soil loose.
• Heavy rainfall or floods, which wash away the top soil with force.
• Overgrazing of animals.
• Forest fires, which destroy the plants and tress.
• Poor farming method.
Prevention of soil erosion(Soil conservation):-
• Afforestation or planting trees.
• Constructing dams to control floods.
• Planting trees as shelter belts to reduce the effect of strong winds.
• Terrace farming on the slopes of hills to check soil erosion.
• Preventing overgrazing by animals.
