\huge✍︎\fbox\orange{ÂŇ}\fbox{SW} \fbox\green{ÊŘ}:

Solar Eclipse is also known as the eclipse of the sun, it occurs when the moon comes in between the sun and the earth. As a result, the moon blocks the light of the sun from reaching the earth’s surface and casts a shadow on it. This occurs on a new moon phase. We can observe up to 5 solar eclipses per year.

Depending on the distance of the moon from the earth during the event, different types of solar concealment can be observed. They can be categorized as:

  • Partial: When the moon does not align completely with the sun and so only a portion of the sunlight is blocked from reaching the earth.
  • Annular: When the moon covers the sun but the sun can be seen around the edges of the moon giving an impression of the sun is a bright ring surrounding the dark disc of the moon.
  • Total: When the sun is completely covered by the moon. The sky becomes so dark that it appears to be night. Only a small area on the earth can witness it.

Brother/Sister your correct answer is:-

\Large\bold{\mathbb{\colorbox{gold}{\green{Defination:↓}}}}

A solar eclipse occurs when a portion of the Earth is engulfed in a shadow cast by the Moon which fully or partially blocks sunlight. This occurs when the Sun, Moon and Earth are aligned. Such alignment coincides with a new Moon indicating the Moon is closest to the ecliptic plane. In a total eclipse, the disk of the Sun is fully obscured by the Moon. In partial and annular eclipses, only part of the Sun is obscured.

If the Moon were in a perfectly circular orbit, a little closer to the Earth, and in the same orbital plane, there would be total solar eclipses every new moon.
