A streamlined body is a shape of body that reduces resistance when moving .Treamlined bodies often have a teardrop shape.

Some animals, such as sharks and dolphins, are streamlined so that they have less resistance when swimming in water. This same idea works with airplanes! When things are flat, such as a piece of paper, they have more friction drag. Friction drag is like two things rubbing together. When airplanes fly they rub against air particles. This slows them down. To help lessen this drag we make airplanes streamlined. This way air can move around airplanes quickly and come together smoothly on the other side.
