Indian society was caste based earlier but now it is the part of administration.

- It under went many transformations in every period till the British time. Now a day it has become the base of job and educational reservations.
- It has different categorization, as in- jati, varna and caste.
- The caste system saw a new outlook after the Mughal reign and it was dominated by the kings, priests etc.
