intermolecular space is space between molecules or particles of matter

because of difference in intermolecular force between those molecules of matter as solid have strongest force while gases have least force

u might say that intermolecular force is inversely proportional to intermolecular space between matter's particles

Answer:

(a) Intermolecular forces : These the attractive forces as well as repulsive forces present between the neighbouring molecules.

(b) The attractive forces decrease with the increase in distance between the molecules.

(c) The intermolecular forces are strong in solids, less strong in liquids and very weak in gases.

Due to this variation in the strength of intermolecular forces, the properties of matter in three states are different.
