interconversion of states without going to between states.
The process of change of solid directly to gaseous state without changing in to liquid state.
eg- Ammonium chloride (NH4C1), Camphor .

SUBLIMATION :-

Sublimation is a process of conversion of the state of the matter.

Under this process,
The solid state converts directly to gaseous states,
and, the gaseous state directly converts to the solid State without changing themselves into liquid state.

During the process sublimation,
there is no signs of liquid state.

It means that the gaseous matter or the solid matter didn't convert itself into liquid state before coming to the solid State and gaseous state respectively.

FOR EXAMPLE :-

The conversion of ammonium chloride crystals (solid) into gaseous aluminum chloride is the process of sublimation.

How can it be seen??

The setup requires Ammonium chloride (NH4Cl), funnel, cork, wire gauge and burner.
How to perform the activity :-

Under this,
Keep the burner on the floor and turn it on. Now keep a wire gauge over it.
Now, keep a china dish having solidified crystals of ammonium chloride over the gauge.
Now,
Invert the funner and cover the dish and put the cork in the funnel ending to prevent the gas from escaping out.
Now,
After some time,
The NH4Cl disappears from the china dish and whitish fog appears inside the funnel.
When the temperature of funnel decreases we find that solid crystals are present in the neck of the funnel.
These are the NH4Cl crystals only...

Also,
Under this The NH4Cl is considered as the SUBLIMATE.

SUBLIMATE - Any substance which undergoes sublimation is called as a sublimate.

This is all about sublimation.
