Answer:

Division of labour in multicellular means that as there are many cells present in multicellular organism, each cell is specified for different work. So there is not a burden on a cell to perform all the life activities. different life activities are performed by different cells in multicellular organism.

Answer:

Division of labour means the system performing different works.

In unicellular organisms, due to lack of tissues all the vital activities are performed in a single cell as in protozoans.

In porifera the cells unite and develop primitive type of tissue organisation but the tissues are unable to unite and perform collectively. Hence they are also unable to develop the organs’ system.

In phylum- coelenterata/cnidaria, the tissues unite and develop the organ system like mouth, ovaries, testes, tentacles etc. These organs perform different vital activities whenever required.

To perform different vital activities by different organs independently or collectively in multicellular organisms is otherwise termed as division of labour.

Cnidarians are initiator of division of labour in animal kingdom.

Capturing the pray, engulfing the pray, digestion, absorption, circulation, excretion, offence and defence etc. are some of the examples which require different labour done by various organs, hence may be termed as “division of labour”.

Not only animals but plants also have division of labour performing different functions.

I hope that you find this helpful.
