osmosis: the process by which the water molecules move from lower concentration to higher concentration through semipermeable membrane is osmosis.

Heya,

Osmosis is process in which particles or molecules of a given solvent move from the higher concentrated solution to the lower concentrated solution through a semi-permeable layer in order to make the both concentrations equal.
 
Osmosis is quite different from diffusion.
