♎ Speed of a body is the distance travelled by the body per unit time. Or the Rate of change of distance by the body.

 \large{ \boxed{ \mathrm{ \green{speed =  \frac{distance \: travelled}{time \: taken} }}}}

⏭If a body covers a distance of d in time t then speed,

 \large{ \mathrm{ \boxed{ \green{s =  \frac{d}{t} }}}}

♎Unit...

✒In SI system: m/s

✒In CGS system: cm/s

⭐Other commonly used unit is km/hr

Speed is a scalar quantity because it has magnitude , but no direction. It is always taken positive for a moving body.

The types of speed are:

 \large{ \mathrm{ \red{ speed}{=  \begin{cases}uniform \: speed \\ non \: uniform \: speed \end{cases}}}}

When a body covers equal distances in equal intervals of time, the body is to be moving with a Uniform speed.

When a body covers unequal distances in equal intervals of time or equal dustances in unequal intervals of time, then the body is to be moving with a Non uniform speed.

Average speed...

The average speed of the body in a given time interval is defined as the total distance travelled by the total time taken.

 \large{ \mathrm{ \boxed{ \green{average \: speed =  \frac{total \: distance}{total \: time} }}}}
