Weight of an object is defined as the product of mass and acceleration due to gravity. W=mg
No weight of an object changes with place or acceleration.
It is negligible in space because gravity is 0 in space.
Also in case of lift going upward with acceleration a weight of body is m(g+a) it is more
and while lift going downwards it is m(g-a) which is less.
In free fall it is 0.
