When metal like iron is extracted from its ore a metal higher in reactivity series (Al) is taken to displace the iron from its oxide this process is so exothermic that the iron is produced in melted form and this rxn is used in welding and fixing cracked railway lines

HOPE IT HELPS PLEASE MARK AS THE BRAINLIEST ;-)

royankush002p3mpyd: but how it is used in welding it will change the compound only
royankush002p3mpyd: please explain in brief if you can
SassyBae: the produced metal is in melted form
royankush002p3mpyd: yah..
SassyBae: so the melted iron is put over the cracked parts and when it solidifies it joins the broken track
SassyBae: got it ?
royankush002p3mpyd: yes tks a lot
SassyBae: its like melted choclate when put over something it solidifies hardens and sticks to the surface
SassyBae: welcome dear
royankush002p3mpyd: yah

Exothermic welding, also known as exothermic bonding, thermite welding (TW), and thermit welding, is a welding process that employs molten metal to permanently join the conductors. The process employs an exothermic reaction of a thermitecomposition to heat the metal, and requires no external source of heat or current. The chemical reaction that produces the heat is an aluminothermic reaction between aluminiumpowder and a metal oxide
