Ultrasound can travel quite freely in solid and liquid but in gas its intensity falls . In a medium , it travel with the same speed with which the audible sound travel that is medium that is speed of ultrasound is same as that of a audible sound in air the speed of sound is 330 at 0 degrees celsius .

Application of ultrasound :-

1) bats of avoid obstacles in their part by producing and hearing ultrasound .

2) ultrasound is used for drilling holes for making cuts for desired shape in the material like glass .

3)for cleaning very small objects such as part of watch and electronic equipments ultrasound is used ,

4)for imazing the human organs ultrasound widely used .
