A unicellular organism is composed of only one cell. A multicellular organism is composed of numerous cells that work together, usually a collection ofdifferent cells with specialised functions - e.g. forhumans, neurons, liver cells and muscle fibres have different jobs.

unicellular organisms means single celled organisms (uni- single). for example: Amoeba, bacteria, chlamydomonas etc...
multicellular organisms have more than one cells ( multi- many) for example: fungi, plants, animals.
