UNICELLULAR ORGANISM :

Living organism are made up of one or many cells. Organism made up of a single cell are called unicellular organism.

  • Amoeba, paramicium, yeast and bacteria are the few examples of unicellular organism.
  • The single cell of these organism behave like a complete organism.
  • All the basic function of the living being like digestion, respiration, excretion and reproduction are performed by a single cell.
  • Unicellular organism like a amoeba, paramecium reproduce Asexually.

FOR EXAMPLE :

Amoeba is unicellular oganism. It performs all the functions like taking food (ingestion), digestion, respiration, movement, growth and reproduction.

  • Unicellular organism have short life span as compare to multicellular organism.
  • We can see a unicellular organism by the help of microscope. It is not possible to see the unicellular organism by the naked eyes.
