  • The process of removal of such unwanted plants is called weeding.
  • It loosens the soil, which helps in the penetration of water to the roots of the cultivated plant.

  • It is necessary because they also absorb nutients from soil which damage the main crops because they are not able to get proper amount of nutrition since weeds are absorbing those from soil.
  • We can remove weeds by hand picking or by chemicals.

Methods applied for weeding :-

→ Coverings.

→ Manual removal.

→ Tillage.

→ Thermal.

→ Seed targeting.

→ Stale seed bed.

→ Buried drip irrigation.

→ Crop rotation.
