Ruminants are the plant/grass eating mammals like sheep, cows, buffaloes, etc. They have a different digestive system. These animals quickly swallow the food and store it in a part of their stomach called rumen. The food is stored in the form of curd. After some time this partly chewed food comes back to their mouth and they properly chew it for some time. This then again goes to their stomach and is digested properly.

Hope its clear!!
