Zero Work- We will say work done is 0 in one of the three cases

  • F = 0
  • s = 0
  • Ѳ = 90°

We know that

 \boxed{W = Fs \cos \theta }

And

  • When we put any of the given value then the value of work done becomes 0 as because when something is multiplied by 0 then result becomes 0.
  • In the case of Ѳ = 90° we know that the value of Cos 90° is 0.

Some Important Information

  • It is possible when body is moving with uniform Velocity.
  • Overall net force of the particle will be also O.
  • Work done by gravational force is 0.

Some Examples

  • When we push the wall and it remains at rest.
  • The ossilation of a pendulum.
  • Moving of electron round to the nucleus.
  • Satellite is moving around the earth.
  • A cookie is carrying buggage on a horizontal platform.

Work done = FS cosθ

ZERO WORK:-

The work done is said to be zero work when force and displacement are perpendicular to each other or when either force or displacement is zero.

Three case can be happen

Case 1 θ = 90°

Case 2 ⇒ F = 0

Case 3 ⇒ S = 0

--------------------------------------------------

Examples-

1.When we hold an object and walk, the force acts in downward direction whereas displacement acts in forward direction.

2.You are carrying two bags in your hands and not moving . No work done.

3.If a block is moving on a smooth horizontal surface, no work is done.

4.This happens when a man pushes a wall. There is no displacement of the wall. Thus, there is no work done.

5.When an object is thrown upwards, the force CTS in downward direction whereas displacement acts in upward direction.
