These are the index numbers which completely specify the information about an electron in an atom. i.e.,average distance from nucleus, energy of an electron, orientation of an electron, spin of an electron etc. There are four quantum nos1 Principle quantum no.(n)2 Azimuthal or angular momentum quantum no.(l)3 Magnetic quantum no.(m)4 Spin quantum no(s)The first three quantum nos n,l&m came directly from the solution of Schrodingers wave equation on H _atom.The fourth quantum no.was experimentally determined & was also obtained from advanced quantum mechanics.
I hope it's helps u alot plZ marks as brilliant answer

A quantum number is a valuethat is used when describing theenergylevels available toatomsandmolecules. Anelectronin anatomorionhas fourquantum numbers todescribe its state and yieldsolutions to the Schrödinger wave equation for the hydrogen atom.
There are four quantum numbers:n -principal quantum number- describes the energy levelℓ -azimuthalorangular momentum quantum number- describes the subshellmℓ or m - magnetic quantumnumber - describes the orbital of the subshellmsor s -spin quantum number- describes the spin ...
