it depends on which type of info you are in need of
if you are looking for daily news headlined than news paper is sufficient
but if you want to get information about out of the topic than you go for TV as it provides various channels which can give information for various topics in detail
in short I think TV is better option as it doesn't requires any attention to be paid which is required while reading the newspaper.
